Nobel laureate Shinya Yamanaka will step down as director of Kyoto University’s Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA) by the end of March to “focus on my own research.” The university announced on Dec. 8 that Jun Takahashi, a CiRA professor who studies Parkinson’s disease treatments using induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, will become the next CiRA director.
